2022 Teacher of the Year

Stacey Sanborn

Congratulations to Stacey Sanborn our Maine Agriculture in the Classroom 2022 Teacher of the Year! Stacey teaches 4th grade at Manchester Elementary School in Windham where she has been co-coordinator of the school garden and orchard for 18 years. Her curriculum includes agricultural topics in Science, Math, Maine Studies, Literature, art, nutrition and more!

Every classroom that participates will receive the hardcover book and accompanying lessons and activities. The 2022 program will be a hybrid model where classrooms can decide the delivery method that works best for them.

Dynamic Dairy

Maine virtual Fieldtrip

MAITC is pleased to announce another brand new Maine virtual fieldtrip video "Dynamic Dairy" with Jenni Tilton-Flood as your host. After watching the 10 minute video Pre-K to 12th grade classrooms may schedule a ZOOM visit with Jenni to answer students’ questions! Sessions will be available from December 1 – 16, 2021 or later in January 2022.

National AITC Conference

Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix

The Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix is an online, searchable, and standards-based curriculum map for K-12 teachers and contextualizes national education standards in science, social studies, and nutrition education with relevant instructional resources linked to Common Core Standards.


Maine's first ever agricultural specialty license plate!

$10 from the sale of each set of this colorful plate will be transferred to a special fund for agricultural education programs in Maine administered by the Maine Agriculture in the Classroom Council.
